The United Kingdom, Poland and Belgium, along with Spain, are the main countries of origin for the more than 2,000 athletes that will have the opportunity to enjoy one of the most impressive routes on the international panorama on 10 December. The starting and finishing line for the 2017 Malaga Marathon will be on the central Paseo del Parque, opposite Malaga Town Hall, and the route will go through the main areas of the city including—in chronological order—Alameda Principal and Avenida de Andalucía, Paseo Marítimo Antonio Machado, the aforementioned Palmeral de las Sorpresas, Muelle Uno and Paseo de la Farola, Paseo Marítimo Pablo Ruiz Picasso, El Palo, Paseo de los Curas, Calle Pacífico, the sporting area – passing through the Ciudad de Málaga Stadium and close by the Jose Maria Martin Carpena Arena, Avenida Europa, La Rosaleda Football Stadium and ending in the historic quarter of the city, Calle Alcazabilla opposite the Roman theatre, Plaza del Obispo and Calle Marqués de Larios, which will again delight participants over the final kilometres.
This year, the marathon is being organised by a company with lots of experience in sporting event management. Having Zurich Spain as a sponsor and Atresmedia Events as the organisers has encouraged lots of athletes to sign up for one of the last sporting events of the year. The 2017 Zurich Malaga Marathon promises to be a point of reference for the sector over these dates and sporting festival in the capital city of the Costa del Sol.
