ARTICLE 1. PRESENTATION
ATRES ADVERTISING, S.L.U. is organising the 8th Malaga Marathon, to be held at 9 a.m. on 10 December 2017 and may be participated in by anybody of legal age who wishes to take part without distinction.
ARTICLE 2. APPROVAL
The route will measure 42,195 metres and will be duly approved. This race takes place under IAAF and RFEA Road Race Regulations and is on the AIMS calendar. The route will be marked and signposted at every kilometre both vertically and horizontally.
ARTICLE 3. ROUTE
Pending approval by the different areas of governance of the Malaga City Council involved and the Municipal Police Force.
ARTICLE 4. SCHEDULE
The starting gun will be fired at 9 a.m. and the maximum time allowed for completing the race will be 6 hours so the finishing line will close at 3 p.m. The starting gun for the category of disabled people in wheelchairs will be at 8.58 a.m.
ARTICLE 5. DEVICES OR CONTRAPTIONS WITH WHEELS
No device or contraption with wheels may be used during the race (including handcycles) except for wheelchairs used by disabled athletes approved by the federation and officially allowed by the organisers. The latter must wear helmets.
ARTICLE 6. REGISTRATION
6.1. REGISTRATION PERIOD:
From 31 March 2017 until 8 p.m. on Friday, 1 December 2017 or until the 6,000 available bibs run out.
6.2. REGISTRATION DATES AND FEES:
SPECIAL PROMOTION FOR RUNNERS WHO COLLECTED THEIR BIB AND RUNNER’S BAG FOR THE MALAGA MARATHON 2016 (*)
(*) Registration up to 31 May 2017:
– €17 VAT and 1-day licence included.
If, after verifying the registration, there is no proof that the runner collected their runner’s
bag at the Malaga Marathon 2016, the amount paid will be refunded and the registration will be cancelled.
As of 30 April, ALL RUNNERS, regardless of whether they collected their runner’s bag for the Malaga Marathon to be held in 2016 or not may register at the same rate depending on the places available as set out in these regulations.
Price for runners WHO DID NOT COLLECT THEIR RUNNER’S BAG
FOR THE MALAGA MARATHON 2016:
Registration up to 30 April:
– €35 + €5 for a 1-day licence for non-federated runners.
– Disabled people (33%): €25.
Registration from 1 May until 30 June 2017 or until available bibs run out:
– €45 + €5 for a 1-day licence for non-federated runners
– Disabled people (33%): €35.
Registration from 1 July until 30 September 2017 or until available bibs run out:
– €55 + €5 for a 1-day licence for non-federated runners
– Disabled people (33%): €45.
Registration from 1 October until 15 November 2017 or until available bibs run out:
– €65 + €5 for a 1-day licence for non-federated runners
– Disabled people (33%): €55.
Registration from 16 November until 1 December 2017 or until available bibs run out:
– €80 + €5 for a 1-day licence for non-federated runners
– Disabled people (33%): €70.
6. CONDITIONS
6.1.- As proof of disability, a certificate stating that the registrant has a disability of more than 33% must be attached to the registration form.
Alternatively, an email may be sent to the same address, containing a copy of the card that certifies their degree of disability.
6.2.- As of 8 p.m. on Friday, 1 December 2017 no further registrations will be accepted.

6.4.- CONSIDERATIONS
• The registration is personal and non-transferable and implies total acceptance of the
technical regulations for the race, including the Statement of Responsibility included in the same  (Appendix 1).
• Under no circumstance, once the registration is completed, can you transfer participation to any other person due to not being able to take part in the race or any other reason.
• The registration limit for the 8th Malaga Marathon 2017 is 6,000 runners.
6.5.- CANCELLATION GUARANTEE
Once the registration is completed, the fee paid will not be refunded under any circumstance. When registering, the runner may take out a cancellation guarantee for their registration and must choose from the 3 options available when registering:
• 1) I do not want any guarantee
• 2) Standard cancellation guarantee. Costs 10% of the registration fee.
• Refund of 80% of the registration fee or exchange for 2018 up to 30 November 2017.
• 3) Premium cancellation guarantee. Costs 20% of the registration fee.
Refund of 100% of the registration fee or exchange for 2018 up to 30 November 2017.
• The cancellation guarantee may only be taken out when registering.
• The fee for the cancellation guarantee is non-refundable.
• No change of ownership will be allowed.
• It must be taken out when registering.
ARTICLE 7. CATEGORIES AND CLASSIFICATIONS
7.1. CATEGORIES
The following categories are established:
• Junior M/W: Born in 1999 (of legal age on the day of the race)
• Promise M/W: Born from 1996 to 1998
• Senior M/W: Born from 1996 to Veteran (35 years of age)
• Veteran M 35/W 35: From 35 to 39 years of age
• Veteran M 40/W 40: From 40 to 44 years of age
• Veteran M 45/W 45: From 45 to 49 years of age
• Veteran M 50/W 50: From 50 to 54 years of age
• Veteran M 55/W 55: From 55 to 59 years of age
• Veteran M 60/W 60: From 60 to 64 years of age
• Veteran M 65/W 65: From 65 to 69 years of age
• Veteran M 70/W 70: From 70 to 74 years of age
• Veteran M 75/W 75: From 75 to 79 years of age
• Veteran M 80/W 80: From 80 to 85 years of age
• Veteran M 85/W 85: Over 85 years of age.
• Disabled (Mixed) in Wheelchairs M/W
• Physically/Intellectually Disabled (Mixed) M/ W
* All ages indicated are on the date of the race.
7.2. CLASSIFICATIONS
There will be the following classifications:
• Overall Absolute Men and Women.
• Overall Mixed Disabled in Wheelchairs.
• Overall Mixed Physically/Intellectually Disabled
• Men and Women Grouped by Age.
• Spanish Men and Women.
• Andalusian Men and Women.
• Malaga Men and Women
• Clubs
ARTICLE 8. PRIZES
There will be a trophy for all prizes accompanied, where specified, by a cash prize.
CASH PRIZES FOR OVERALL INDIVIDUAL CLASSIFICATION

2nd man and woman €2,000 each
3rd man and woman €1,000 each

The prizes (men’s and women’s) will be paid in full as long as the time achieved is lower than 2:18:00 for men and 2:48:00 for women; otherwise 50% will be paid.
If the time achieved is higher than 2:30:00 for men and 2:55:00 for women, there will be no
cash prize.

These prizes may be accumulated with Overall and Spanish Classification prizes and they will only be paid when the time achieved is lower than 2:20:00 for men and 2:40:00 for women.
An Andalusian is understood to be anybody of Spanish nationality born or resident in a municipality belonging to Andalusia.
Malaga men and women, for the purposes of classification and prizes, are understood to be anybody of Spanish nationality born or resident in the municipality of Malaga.
CASH PRIZES FOR PHYSICALLY/INTELLECTUALLY DISABLED
WHEELCHAIR CLASSIFICATION

2nd man and woman €300 each
3rd man and woman €200 each
Wheelchair prizes (men’s and women’s) will be paid in full as long as the time achieved is lower than 2:00:00 for men and 2:20:00 for women; otherwise, 50% will be paid. When times achieved are higher than 2:10:00 for men and 2:30:00 for women, no cash prize will be awarded.
Prizes in the physically/intellectually disabled category (men’s and women’s) will be paid in full as long as the times achieved are lower than 2:50:00 for men and 3:20:00 for women; otherwise 50% will be paid. For times higher than 3:00:00 for men and 3:40:00 for women, there will be no cash prize.
All cash prizes are subject to legally established withholding and to acknowledgement of the time by RFEA. Participants who obtain cash prizes and have had to take a doping test will not be paid until the results are in the power of the organisers.
To collect any prize, athletes must present their national Spanish ID (DNI), passport or other official document to prove their identity.
Athletes who beat national or international records must undergo a doping test.
Club classification
A trophy will be awarded to the three clubs with the largest number of sportsmen and women to reach the finishing line.
8.1. COMPLAINTS
of Judges.
Complaints in connection with classifications that entail a prize will be submitted in writing to the arbitrator, along with €50, within a maximum of 30 minutes after the classifications are published so that the latter may make a decision on the same. If it is decided that the runner is right, they will be refunded the €50.
All other complaints must be sent in writing to the marathon email address:
info@maratonmalaga.com for the attention of the arbitrator before the Wednesday following
the race.
The organisers will announce the arbitrator’s decisions within a maximum of 10 days, as of which the classifications will be considered final. Therefore, all trophies and prizes will be provisional until this time.
ARTICLE 9. BIBS
Bibs may only be collected at the Runner’s Fair, which will take place at the José Mª Martín Carpena Sports Centre. Friday 8 December from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday 9 December from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
To collect their bibs, runners must present the confirmation or a copy of their registration and their national Spanish ID (DNI), passport or other official document to prove their identity.
No bibs will be given out on race day.
The bibs must not be modified and must be worn visibly on your front (on your trunk) for the whole race.
The bibs contain a disposable chip so they must not be folded or modified.
ARTICLE 10. DISQUALIFICATIONS
The following are reasons for disqualification:
• Providing false data when registering (age, residence status, etc.).
• Not completing the entire route.
• Not passing the checkpoints along the route
• Not wearing the bib visibly on your chest or amending or hiding the advertising on the same.
• Running with a bib and/or chip allocated to another runner.
• Not heeding instructions given by the judges and/or the organisers’ personnel.
• Having allowed your bib to be photocopied and used by another runner in the marathon.
• Refusing to take a doping test.
• Unsporting behaviour.
ARTICLE 11. REFRESHMENTS
Runners will be provided with refreshments along the route and in the area set up at the finishing line for this purpose.
There will be refreshment stations with water and isotonic drinks at KM 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40.
There will be solid foods at some of the refreshment stations as of KM 20.
ARTICLE 12. MEDICAL CARE
The 8th Malaga Marathon 2017 will have the medical services required for caring for runners while they take part in the same. The organisers recommend that all participants have a medical check-up before the race and all participants accept the risk derived from the sporting activity.
The athletes, likewise, state that they are physically fit enough to take part in this race and they do so under their own responsibility.
Any athlete with health problems is obliged to notify the organisers of this in advance in writing, to mark their bib with a red cross and to write their name, address, telephone number and health problem on the same. They are obliged (for their safety) to notify the organisers of this in writing before the race day (indicating their bib number).
There may be a physiotherapy and chiropody service, which will be exclusively for the use of runners who have injured themselves in some way. The physiotherapy service shall not be used, under any circumstance, for massages for relaxation or stress-relief.
The medical services have the authority to withdraw any runner who they deem to be in poor
physical health.
ARTICLE 13. RESPONSIBILITY
The organisers are held harmless of all liability arising from the effects, consequences or
responsibilities derived from any damage or injury to people or things that may be caused by participants because of the race, to themselves, to other people and even if third parties cause harm to a participant, volunteer or member of the organisers’ personnel.
ARTICLE 14. BAGGAGE SERVICE
The organisers will provide a baggage service where runners can leave their belongings but the former will not be held responsible for any objects left.
The organisers’ baggage service personnel may ask runners to open their bags before leaving them so that they can check the contents of the same. If a runner refuses to open a bag, the organisers may refuse to accept this bag.
ARTICLE 15. AUTHORISED VEHICLES
The only vehicles that may follow the race will be those authorised by the organisers. Following the runners in or on any type of motor vehicle or vehicle on wheels (skates, bicycles, etc,) is totally prohibited and Malaga Local Police have express orders to remove these vehicles from the circuit. There will be a broom wagon at the tail of the race to pick up runners that, for whatever reason, do not wish to or cannot continue with the run. Any runners who are not in a condition to be able to finish the race by the time set for supervision of the activity to end must, when instructed by any member of the organisation, be picked up by the broom wagon or leave the race.
ARTICLE 16. UNAUTHORISED DEMONSTRATIONS
Any type of demonstration that could put the safety of the participants and the event at risk is strictly prohibited and any people involved in the same will be removed by the forces of law and order.
ARTICLE 17. ACCEPTANCE OF REGULATIONS
By registering, all participants accept these REGULATIONS and RFEA, FAA, IAAF and AIMS rules. If in doubt, the organisers’ criteria will prevail.
ARTICLE 18. ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLICATION (DATA PROTECTION POLICY)
In compliance with the provisions of article 5 of Spanish Law 15/1999, of 13 December on Personal Data Protection, we hereby inform you that your personal data (name, surname and email) will be processed and included in a file belonging to Atres Advertising, S.L.U. for the purpose of managing the personal data of people participating in the different activities and events organised by the company and also for sending via any means, including electronic means, information and advertising regarding the products and services provided by our company and the event sponsors and/or collaborators .

The purpose of collecting and processing the personal data included in the files is to register participants and also to send them information regarding all matters relating to the Malaga Marathon. Personal data provided and any images that may be taken during the event will be used for the purpose of the event and for disseminating information regarding the same and regarding the final race classifications, which list name, surname, category and nationality.
Given that the race forms part of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation Official National and International Calendar and that the agreement with the data processor allows the latter to use the activity for marketing purposes, the following are expressly authorised: transfer of your data to the Spanish Athletics Federation for their own purposes and the use of images obtained during the event on or in any media and/or format (paper, web, announcements, video, etc.) in accordance with the purposes expressly agreed to herein.
By registering, you state that you have been informed of the terms and conditions contained herein and expressly consent to your personal data being processed for the aforementioned purposes.
